Hero Talk - Steve Wynn
I have been fortunate enough to visit Las Vegas and stand in the lobby of the Wynn hotel (and rather embarrassingly have the shits in one of it’s fine toilets) and the place is truly amazing but what’s more interesting is the man who designed it - Steve Wynn.
Even though school wasn’t for me - I naturally question everything and in my school that wasn’t a good thing! I didn’t learn or know much for certain in school apart from my passion for under-age drinking and that I was interested in buildings. I try my best to live without regret but not working harder in school to progress into architecture is what I consider to be punishment for being a dick in school. I first came across Steve by accident - I am really interested in Business and was reading up about Kirk Kerkorian when Steve was mentioned.
Steve single handedly redesigned Vegas from a small time gambling town to the power city it is today. I stayed in the Bellagio and it is one of the finest places you can be. I read that Steve had delayed the opening on the Wynn by a couple of months because the display pillows that are on every bed were unbranded - Perfectionist. The man hit a low and made a major comeback by designing the Wynn and eventually Encore.
I love Vegas and have dreamt of owning a Hotel since I stepped into Business. Steve is a hero to me because he did what I dream of and the motherfuckers going blind.
